California Air Resources Board
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is part of the California EPA, an organization that reports directly to the Governor's Office in the Executive Branch of California State Government. CARB’s mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare and ecological resources through the reduction of air pollutants while considering the effects on the state’s economy.
As zero emission vehicles, hydrogen fuel cells will play a significant role in reducing California's GHG and smog emissions. CARB's Advanced Clean Cars Program builds upon the ZEV Regulation in place since 1990 and rapidly increases numbers of ZEV technologies, such as hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
