National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day, 2015

Justin Lewis

National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day was created to help raise awareness of a clean energy technology that is here now. October 8th (10.08) was chosen in reference to the atomic weight of hydrogen (1.008).

On September 29th, the Senate officially recognized October 8th as National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day with the passage of Senate Resolution 217, which was agreed to by unanimous consent. The resolution's primary cosponsors were Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and was also sponsored by Senator Chris Coons (D-CT), Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM), and Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI).
