Commemorating National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day, representatives from the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA) and Toyota Motor Company drove a Toyota Mirai FCV on a Capital-Capital-Capital tour from the nation's capital in Washington, D.C., to the capitals of Richmond, Virginia, and Annapolis, Maryland.

This drive, conducted on Tuesday, October 4th, demonstrated the long-range, zero-emission driving capabilities of the Toyota Mirai, from the nation's capital, Washington, D.C, to the the capitals of Virginia, in Richmond, and the capital of Maryland, in Annapolis.

This long-distance trip was able to be taken in one day thanks to the availability of a demonstration hydrogen fueling station in Washington, D.C.

In total, the Toyota Mirai drove 282 miles and averaged nearly 72 miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent (MPGe) in driving.
