Commemorating National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day, representatives from the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA) and Toyota Motor Company drove a Toyota Mirai FCV on a Capital-Capital-Capital tour from the nation's capital in Washington, D.C., to the capitals of Richmond, Virginia, and Annapolis, Maryland.

FCHEA Brings Fuel Cell Vehicle Ride & Drive to SEJ's 26th Annual Conference

FCHEA partnered with the California Fuel Cell Partnership to provide a fuel cell vehicle ride and drive at the Society of Environment Journalists' annual conference during September in Sacramento, CA. Over 25 journalists and stakeholders went on rides in the vehicles at the event. As part of FCHEA's Zero Emissions. Zero Compromise. campaign, the event was a great success at educating attendees on fuel cell vehicles.

Over 70 congressional staffers, industry representatives, and non-governmental organizations turned out for FCHEA's sixth annual Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Policy Forum, held on May 16 at the United States Capitol Visitor Center. Presentations on the fuel cell and hydrogen energy industry were given by Reuben Sakar, Deputy Asst. Secretary for Transportation at the Department of Energy; Scott Gerke, Manager of Federal Affairs for Honda North America; Gwen Bluemich Manager of Technology & Innovation at Daimler External Affairs; Frank Wolak, Vice President of Government Business at FuelCell Energy; Steve Szymanski, Director of Business Development at Proton OnSite; and Gerry Conway, General Counsel and Vice President of Government Affairs at Plug Power.

FCHEA Hosts Congressional Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Education Tour to Member Facilities in Delaware and Maryland

On March 22, the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association hosted a field trip for several congressional staffers to visit member company locations in Delaware and Maryland. The stops included a tour of W. L. Gore's MEA Manufacturing Plant in Elkton, Maryland, a demonstration of a Ballard Power fuel cell bus fleet at the University of Delaware's STAR campus, a viewing of Bloom Energy's 3 MW fuel cell installation at a DelMarVa Power substation, and a visit to Air Liquide's Research and Technology Center in Newark, Delaware.
