National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day was created to help raise awareness of a clean energy technology that is here now. October 8th (10.08) was chosen in reference to the atomic weight of hydrogen (1.008)
The Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA), its members, industry organizations, and state and federal governments are commemorating National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day with a variety of activities and events across the country.
We have collected some of the announcements, activities, and events below that made October 8th another successful National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day celebration!
The House in Pennsylvania passed HR 1022 by a vote of 202 to 0 recognizing October 8th as “National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day” in Pennsylvania.
FCHEA is excited to announce that on September 24, the United States Senate passed Senate Resolution 720, declaring October 8, 2020, National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day for the United States.
FCHEA is excited to announce that on September 29, the United States House of Representatives recognized October 8, 2020, as National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day with the introduction of House Resolution 1158!
Jared Polis, Governor of the State of Colorado, has issued a Proclamation declaring October 8 as Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day within the state. The Proclamation reflects nationwide efforts to promote National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day. Governor Polis identifies the growth of hydrogen and its ability to combat carbon emissions as driving factors in the establishment of the day.
Hawai‘i joins the nation in celebrating the sixth annual National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day, which marks the growth of the industry by raising awareness of the benefits fuel cells and hydrogen technologies provide in generating reliable and resilient power, while increasing energy, environmental, and economic security.
The International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE) is proud to announce the launch of its brand-new Education and Outreach Working Group (E&O WG) - Early Career Chapter.
