United States Senate Recognizes National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day!
Connor Dolan
On September 26, the United States Senate passed Senate Resolution 346 by unanimous consent, declaring October 8, 2019 National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day for the United States. This is the fifth year in a row the Senate has officially proclaimed the special day.
FCHEA would like to thank Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for once again sponsoring this resolution. We would also like to thank Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Chris Coons (D-DE), Cory Gardner (R-CO), Chris Murphy (D-CT), and Rob Portman (R-OH) for joining Senator Graham as bipartisan cosponsors of S. Res. 346.
More information on the resolution can be found here. The full text of the resolution is also displayed below.
As a reminder, the date of October 8 (10/08) was chosen in recognition of the atomic weight of hydrogen (1.008). This day provides a platform to raise broader awareness of fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies.
